In this time of insecurity and change, the people of Latvia need care for each other and humanity. This was stated by President Egils Levits in his speech on the 102nd anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic of Latvia.

The President emphasized that foresight is also needed, which today allows us to see new opportunities, conscience, making the Latvian state safe, proud and beautiful.

Patience and an awareness are still needed that the current difficulties are temporary and will be overcome.

“This year, in an emergency, we are celebrating the founding of our country quieter than usual. We are temporarily forced to slow down the pace of our lives. It is not easy for anyone.

But it is necessary to save lives and protect health, to prevent the economy from slipping even faster.

It is safe to say that next year this global crisis will be overcome, “stressed Levits.

At the same time, the President thanked everyone who had worked for themselves, their families, their fellow human beings and their country in the countryside and cities of Latvia, as well as in the entire vast world where Latvians live. “Thank you for your work and for your love for Latvia!” said Levit.
