Mazik also admitted that the process of joining the EU for Ukraine is taking place at a very difficult time, “but everyone understands the importance and significance of the moment”.
He promised that Ukraine’s answers to the EU questionnaire would be evaluated quickly.
“Another step on Ukraine’s path to the EU. I am honored to receive a response from Zelensk to the European Commission’s questionnaire, which Leiena submitted just ten days ago. Emergency measures and speed are needed in emergencies,” the Estonian diplomat wrote on Twitter.
The President of the European Commission (EC), Urzula von der Leiena, solemnly presented this questionnaire to Zelenski in Kiev on 8 April, the completion of which is a necessary step in order for Ukraine to be granted EU candidate status.
Ukraine’s deputy head of the office, Ihor Zhovkva, said on Sunday that the EU’s questionnaire had already been completed and that Ukraine expected to be granted candidate status at the European Council in June.
