During the third economic conference of the Toulon Provence Méditerranée metropolis, the president of the Toulon commercial court, William Reich, confirmed “the good behavior” of the businesses in the territory in the face of the health and economic crisis. Thus, during the period from January 1, 2021 to May 10, 2021, business start-ups (commercial companies) jumped by 45% (from 145 to 1,000) compared to the same period in 2020 and by 135 % for natural persons. In addition, the number of recovery procedures increased from 15 to 35 cases, knowing that over the full year 2020, these procedures had fallen by 70%. Collective proceedings increased by 22% and William Reich, also economic mediator since 2020, confided to having handled 10 mediation cases, affecting commercial rents, commercial disputes or even refusals of PGE.
