The president of the Press Council, Azyumardi Azra, has died. Azyumardi died after being previously treated in a hospital in Selangor, Malaysia.
“Exactly. I confirmed to his wife that he was there. Now the embassy is taking care of his body”, said on Sunday (18/9) the head of the Commission for Research, Data Collection and Ratification of the Council of the print, Ninik Rahayu / 2022).
Previously, the Indonesian embassy had visited Azyumardi who was being treated. The Indonesian embassy in Kuala Lumpur attempted to refer the Muslim scholar to a hospital in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur.

Azyumardi Azra will be sent to Kuala Lumpur after confirmation by the receiving hospital. He said that the family of former UIN chancellor Syarif Hidayatullah will also come to Malaysia on Saturday (17/9) tomorrow.
“We are asking for more attention from the hospital. We have asked to be transferred to the ICU or to another hospital that is better,” he said.
