(Niamey and the 2 days) – The president of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), Dr Bandar MH Hajjar, is expected in Niamey for a work mission from March 27 to 30, 2021. During his stay, he will proceed with the President Issoufou Mahamadou, at the inauguration of the Faculty of Young Girls of the Islamic University of Say and at the final acceptance of the Waqf Building in Niamey.
Note that Dr Bandar MH Hajjar is not on his first visit to Niger. Indeed, on January 18, he was elevated to the dignity of Grand Officer in the National Order of Niger during a ceremony chaired by Prime Minister Brigi Rafini. On this occasion, he declared that “the Islamic Development Bank reaffirms its commitment to the President of the Republic in order to support him in his efforts to develop Niger ».
Thanks to the support of the IDB, Niger has been able to initiate the construction of numerous infrastructures and launch social programs which have had a strong impact on the population.
The IDB operates in a market of over 1.7 billion people and is present in 57 countries. Its objective is to be an investment bank serving Muslim countries with the aim of stimulating economic development and social progress. Its interventions in various sectors in Niger are estimated at more than 500 billion FCFA since the creation of the institution.
