The two leaders will sign an agreement to double Azerbaijan’s oil imports to the European Union to 20 million cubic meters per year in the next five years.
The agreement also envisages investing funds in the expansion of the Southern Gas Corridor to ensure the supply of Azerbaijan’s natural gas to the EU.
After Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the EU decided to phase out Russian gas imports and is currently actively looking for alternative suppliers.
