The president of San Antonio Unido updated the status of Cristóbal Campos and the goalkeeper reacted

Three weeks ago, Cristóbal Campos was involved in a serious traffic accident that resulted in the amputation of part of his right foot. The former goalkeeper of the University of Chile remains hospitalized at the BUPA Clinic in La Florida and this Monday, as has happened so many times before, he received a visit from Guillermo Lee, president of San Antonio Unido, his current team.

Through his Instagram stories, Lee shared details of the last meeting. “Today, together with Roberto Cereceda (captain of the team), we spent more than an hour and a half talking with Cristóbal Campos. His strength is tremendous and we are already thinking about the future and working together as a team with him,” he pointed out.

“I conveyed your words to him and he is very grateful for the support. Come on, San Antonio Unido,” Lee added. Campos shared the story a few minutes later.

Cristobal Campos’ contract with San Antonio Unido

The former Universidad de Chile goalkeeper’s contract expires at the end of this year. However, the Segunda División club is preparing a lifetime contract for Campos. “Cristóbal will leave San Antonio when he wants to leave,” said a few days ago Guillermo Lee, president of SAU, in conversation with La Tercera.

“While he is on leave, he will be a San Antonio Unido player. When he is conscious, we will offer him an extension, I insist, regardless of the time. We have said it: Cristóbal will leave San Antonio whenever he wants, not for any other reason. He will be our player ad eternum,” the leader added.

Lee even went much further and stated that in the event that Campos cannot continue in football or decides to retire, The club will offer him a position on the coaching staff, so that he can remain linked to the institution.
