According to the Chancellery of the President, Levits met with Braži at the Riga Castle today to discuss NATO issues.

During the conversation, great attention was paid to the organization’s strategic development concept “NATO 2030”, emphasizing the need for the involvement of Latvia and the Baltics in the discussion of the concept, thinking far-sightedly about today’s security challenges. The President noted that Latvia was interested in actively participating in the discussion of the concept.

Levits and Braze also discussed the situation in Belarus. The President emphasized the need for the international community to demand repeated, free and fair elections in Belarus.

Braže emphasized NATO’s involvement in the fight against the new coronavirus disease Covid-19, in operative cooperation with the UN, as well as in the fight against misinformation.
