The president of a hunting association from Neamț and an employee, investigated under judicial control after taking a bribe, in order not to report a poaching

The president of a hunting association and one of its employees are being investigated under judicial control by the prosecutors in Neamţ after they allegedly requested electronic devices, respectively aerial surveillance, from a member of the association, in order not to report a possible act of poaching.

“On 16.04.2023, judicial police officers from the General Anticorruption Directorate – Neamț County Anticorruption Service, under the coordination of the case prosecutor from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Neamț Court, caught a person who has the capacity of president red-handed of a hunting association, while receiving an electronic device from a member of the association, in order not to report a possible act of game poaching”it is stated in a press release from the DGA.

Later, the anti-corruption police executed a summons for another employee of the association, through whom the said asset had been requested and who, in turn, had requested an aerial surveillance device, in order not to report the same fact.

Against the president of the hunting association and against the previously mentioned employee of the association, the prosecutor of the case ordered the criminal action to be initiated, the investigations being continued under the aspect of committing bribery crimes.

The value of the goods requested is approximately 40,000 lei. The two persons were detained for a period of 24 hours.

“On 17.04.2023, they were presented to the Neamț Court with a proposal for preventive arrest, the measure of judicial control being ordered”the police said.
