The Constitutional Court did not uphold Hudák’s constitutional complaint.
BRATISLAVA. President Zuzana Caputova she proceeded correctly when in 2019 she decided not to appoint Jozef Hudák as Vice-Governor of the National Bank of Slovakia.
Constitutional Court did not comply with his constitutional complaint, alleging that the President had violated his fundamental right to equal access to public office. TASR informed the president’s spokesman Martin Strižinec.
The President did not appoint Hudák as Vice Governor of the NBS for several reasons.
“In making a decision in 2019, she came to the conclusion that she did not meet the legal requirements for the performance of the function, ie achieving a full university degree in the field of monetary or finance. Doubts were also raised by the scope, nature and timeliness of his practice in the management position in the monetary area or in the area of finance, “Strižinec explained.
In his case, moreover, according to the spokesman, there were facts which reasonably called into question his ability to act as vice-governor in a way that did not diminish the national bank’s credibility.
The nomination of Jozef Hudák as Vice Governor of the NBS was approved by the parliament in 2018. The then President Andrej Kiska he left the decision in this case to President Caputova.
