The presenter surprised her fans with a photo from an American trip in her youth

Halina Pawlowská is one of our most sympathetic writers and presenters. But she can also be proud of many other titles – she is a screenwriter, journalist, actress and director! Halina can make a joke out of all life situations and all her humorous stories are based on their own experiences. She is well-traveled and can still make fun of herself.

Halina was born into a Czech-Ukrainian family and spoke only Ukrainian with her father. As she often told herself, her father was always only interested in Ukraine being free. He wouldn’t care if Halina brought home three husbands or partied until five in the morning somewhere at fifteen. She also often remembers her late husband with love, whom she also considered her best friend. Her husband Zdeněk died of cancer in 2013.

Throughout her childhood, she was afraid that her parents would die. But she was looking for any joy in life

Throughout her youth, Halina suffered from mistrust of the communist regime and grew up in fear. She was afraid that both her parents would die and she would be left alone. In an interview for Rozhlas.cz, she confided that she never recovered from her childhood. Even in adulthood, she did not properly absorb the loss of her parents. “I was afraid and it happened: It’s already here, I thought to myself. After my father died, I was completely lost for six or seven years. It’s pretty scary. Now it’s coming back to me. I see mom more,” she interviewed herself.

Despite her sad childhood, Halina as a teenager got involved in several activities that made her happy – she was fascinated by figure skating, for example. On her social networks, the writer likes to return to her youth and fans are sometimes pleased with a photo from the family album. Recently, for example, she posted a photo from her trip to America on Instagram. She “walked” it around the streets of New York like a Playboy bunny with red pointy ears. Certainly at that time it attracted the attention of many local passers-by. She added a comment to the post: “When I was in New York years ago, I was curious about the sex in that city.” She alluded to the famous American sitcom Sex in the City.

In America they thought she was a porn star

Halina Pawlowská is always smiling and always positive, and the fact that she always seems so cheerful may have paid off for her in America as well. In 1990, it won the award for Best Post-Socialist Screenplay Thanks for every good morning and thanks to that she got on her way to Hollywood. There, her friend, who was also platonically in love with her, took care of her. He took her to places where only the cream of the crop gets. “I walked alongside my successful admirer and every now and then someone smiled at me and someone got up from dinner to shake my hand.” recalled Pawlowska in one of her books. She was surprised because some famous artist invited her for a drink, e.g. Rod Stewart or Nicolas Cage.

After a while, however, she discovered that the local people definitely do not see her as a famous screenwriter, but as a famous porn actress. Some men even wanted to touch her. In the book, Halina described how a friend who accompanied her joked to her that she had sex with more than fifty men and had her breasts enlarged several times. It is then surprising that Halina met this friend of hers several times afterwards. It also tells about how great sense of humor the writer has

She has traveled halfway around the world and needs adrenaline to live all the time

Halina is a passionate traveler and has traveled almost the entire world. Today, he describes himself more as a comfortable person, in whom there is no longer such curiosity and desire to see and know everything. Now he prefers to spend time at his cottage and the desire to write still hasn’t left her. Halina has one more big dream in her life, and that is to sit on a terrace somewhere in Italy and write another book from there. Even so, writing is becoming more and more demanding for her, especially physically. “When I’m pounding on the computer and bending over, after two or three hours everything hurts like I’m a lumberjack,” she admitted that even after all these years she still suffers from the stress of not being able to write something by the deadline. But at the same time, she also confessed that she can’t say no, and that’s certainly a problem for many of us.
