However, the announcement of the latter’s introduction into the MCU automatically led to a controversy that finds its source in the military conflict between Israel and Palestine.
Sabra creates controversy due to its origins
To understand the reasons for the rejection of the character by the fans it is necessary to refer to the comic titled Incredible Hulk released in 1980. The character of Sabra appears there for the first time and is described as a Mossad Intelligence agent with superhuman strength and skill. of unprecedented combat.
As soon as the announcement of the presence of Israeli-Jewish heroin in the future film, some fans from the Arab world felt that Sabra had no place in the MCU. The strictest have even asked Marvel Studios to give up bringing heroin to its universe.
This protest stems from the fact that some Internet users have seen similarities between the Sabra story and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. However, it is never written in the comics that Sabra’s operations on behalf of the Israeli intelligence were directed against Palestine.
For its part, the heads of the Marvel studio have indicated that they are thinking of a smarter approach to bringing the character to life without offending his fans. The team will then do their best to get around the controversial content surrounding the character.

Marvel Studios have a habit of re-adapting characters.

Marvel changed the character by combining the Fu Manchu and Mandarin traits by removing the Yellow Peril stereotypes associated with them. This was noted in Shang-Chi and the legend of the ten rings.
We also have an example of character rehabilitation in Black Panther with the character of M’Baku played by Winston Duke, originally called Man-Ape. It is certainly the fate that awaits the character of Sabra very soon, whose role will be played by Shira Haas. Especially since the heroine is not a main character. Her limited appearances leave Marvel a great deal of creative freedom.
