The premiere of the play “A day equal to a century” was held

On March 9, the Azerbaijan State Academic National Drama Theater hosted the premiere of the play “A day equal to a century” based on the novel “A day is equal to a century” by the world-famous Kyrgyz writer Chingiz Aytmatov.

IS informs that the author and production director of the new play is Mehriban Alekbarzadeh, the Honored Art Worker, and Ilham Askerov, the Honored Worker of Culture, is the production designer.

The play begins with the journey of Yedigey, a railway worker at Boranli station, to bury his friend Gazangap’s body in Ana-beyit, an ancient place of residence. The people of Boranli are not allowed there because the Baikanur cosmodrome was built on the site of Ana-beyit, where their ancestors slept. In the play, this event – the closure of the road to Ana-beyit – is associated with the construction of the space station, but in the play, it is also evaluated as a lack of ownership of one’s ancestors and land. If sons do not recognize their fathers and mothers, the land does not accept them. Such people will have no place in the infinite universe.

The play is set in the context of an attempt to restore the path from the past narrative to the future extraterrestrial civilization around the collision caused by the “no entry” order. People’s artists Nurettin Mehdikhanli, Ali Nur, Lalazar Mustafayeva, Jafar Namig Kamal, Basti Jafarova, Rafiq Azimov, Haji Ismayilov, Sabir Mammadov, Honored artists Abbas Kahramanov, Elshan Rustamov, Anar Heybatov, Vafa Rzayeva, Ayshad Mammadov, Elkhan Guliyev are in the cast of the stage play. .
