“You can’t expect people to do that any longer. The meteorologists have also said that it will become stronger again. It’s supposed to be pretty intense and I don’t want anything to happen to people,” said Haider.

Premiere got off to a good start

At first it all started so well. Already during the overture, the Junge Philharmonie Brandenburg played Offenbach’s melodies confidently and sensitively under the direction of Piotr Jaworski. The beautiful Helena at Tabor Castle is a cheeky, funny, frivolous and then again sensitive operetta. The cabaret duo Flo and Wisch have developed a new version.

New bold version

Stephan Grögler stages this new version of the operetta like a slap-stick comedy, lively and with a lot of situational comedy. Soprano Svenja Kallweit, she sings the beautiful Helena, convinces with a clear, confident voice and acting level. Tenor Benjamin Lee shines as Prince Paris. Martin Weinek plays King Menelaus and knows how to make the audience laugh with his interpretation of the cuckolded husband. Despite the rain, the entire ensemble impresses with a great enthusiasm for playing. The stage design by Manfred Waba is on the one hand simple and on the other hand stylish with giant clams, columns of light, silver statues and red giant feet.

Abort during the break

The 1st act of the beautiful Helena at Tabor Castle is very entertaining and musically well interpreted and suggests that there are still a few surprises in store for the audience in the 2nd and 3rd acts. The operetta will be played until August 15th.
