A malicious person created a Facebook page using his name, first name and photographs, indicates France-Antilles . The prefecture alerted residents on the social network on Friday October 18, 2024 so that they do not get trapped.
“Avoid the spread of false information”
“The prefecture of Martinique indicates that the “Prefect of Martinique” page is the only official and verified page”she wrote on Facebook. “The prefect invites the population to exercise discernment and consult official sources to avoid the spread of false information”she continues.
This identity theft comes as Martinique mobilizes against the high cost of living. An agreement to reduce food prices by an average of 20% was signed. This would concern around 6,000 products. The Rally for the Protection of Afro-Caribbean Peoples and Resources (RPPRAC) called on residents to continue to show their discontent. Mobilizations were still organized this Monday, October 21 on the island.
