The prefect of Eure-et-Loir reveals the contours of the financial aid provided to residents who have hosted Ukrainians

Help: for whom?

“A contract will be done by the end of the year. Host families will receive assistance of €150 per month for any accommodation longer than three months between 1 April and 31 December 2022. This sum must be multiplied by the number of months of accommodation.

For their part, Ukrainians have the possibility to receive the specific allowance for asylum seekers (ADA). They do not ask for asylum but receive the Ada OFII (French Office for Immigration and Integration) version. They receive housing aid when they have access to permanent housing and are entitled to family allowances. They have the same rights as all French people. We have had very good feedback on the accommodation, the Eurelians have created a very strong network of close ties of support and solidarity with the Ukrainians.

The number of displaced Ukrainians in Eure-et-Loir

“The Eurelians have created a very strong network of close ties of support and solidarity with the Ukrainians.

Since the beginning of the conflict, 918 displaced persons were hosted in Eure-et-Loir. As of November 1, 585 remained. The difference can be explained by those who left during the summer and those who did not return. Or those who have remained in France but outside the Eure-et-Loir.

In detail, 71 families, equal to 245 people, were supported in permanent housing and benefited from the support of an association.

48 families, or 118 people, were housed in city lodgings.

60 displaced Ukrainians are in emergency facilities, mainly in Dreux, as we no longer have any in Chartres. The number of displaced people dropped significantly over the summer. There have been many returns, permanent or just for the summer period. Some came back and some stayed put.

Attacks, power outages… How the Ukrainian editorial team of “The Kyiv Independent” works.

“The reception of the Ukrainians went well overall”

What was more complicated was when we had displaced people from the Paris region who didn’t come of their own free will. In these situations, relationships were less simple. They did not want to leave the Paris region. We’ve had some people leave on their own as well. When people arrived, called by their families or by a structured network, as here in Eure-et-Loir, things went very well. These people who came were seekers, as were the families who took them in. Resuming a professional life in less than six months with housing problems and a language they don’t speak demonstrates a real desire to immerse themselves and integrate into the country.

“An extraordinary ability to integrate”

“Returning to a professional life in less than six months with housing problems and a language they don’t speak. This demonstrates a real desire to immerse and integrate into the country.

A formidable wave of local solidarity was organized to welcome them. Considerable work has been done in the health sector to help victims of war-related unrest. There have been hospitalizations for long-term care.

The hospital staff and the Ars (Regional Health Agency, ed) were of great help in diagnosing them as soon as they arrived and making them follow a medical path. The support and presence of the Red Cross to carry out the first medical visits should be underlined.

“The Second Department of the Region”

Together with the Loiret, we are the two departments in the region that have welcomed the most Ukrainians. Well ahead of Indre-et-Loire and the other departments. We have here the culture of closeness between Ukraine and Beauce, because some already lived here and mobilized for them. We are, with Orléans, among the closest to Paris, so we were more accessible for populations with reception facilities. »
