Even if they resisted much better than during the last two outings in front of Caen and Jura-Morez, Marc David’s troops recorded their 6th defeat in a row on Saturday night against Angers (1-3).
Faced with a high-ranking team, the goal of the PPCV was to grab at least a small point and not to end the evening on a dotted zero. Objective achieved with the victory of Vassily Lakeev against the young Bastien Rembert. But God, it was hard and laborious for the great Russian, having come close to the correctional system facing a 20-year-old kid. Disappointing since the start of the season, Lakeev has completely missed his start to the match against the little elf of Angers, without the slightest complex.
Finally a victory for Lakeev
Led 2 sets to 0 then 3-0 in the third set, Lakeev was on the edge of K-0 before a life-saving timeout and finally a waking up of the Russian. In the end, the Villeneuvois player struggled to win his first victory in the 2020-2021 fiscal year. Insufficient all the same to prevent the troops of Cédric Lepage to know a new defeat and to sink a little more in the depths of the classification.
Because before, the Ukrainian Yevhen Pryshchepa was never in the game to outflank the solid Swedish Jon Personn. Badly, last in this proA with still two lengths behind Saint-Denis, Marc David’s club will still have to fight and draw on its mental resources next Sunday with the reception at the sports complex of the Hennebont team.
