The Balearic PP has criticized the “obstruction” of the Joint Insularity Commission in Congress and the Senate, for which the PSOE was responsible.
The PP senator for Menorca and the deputy speaker of this commission, Cristóbal Marqués, regrets that in one year of the legislation “he only met once” and that there are up to 28 initiatives on isolation that affect the Balearic Islands “paralyzed”, as explained in a press conference offered this Saturday.
“This commission should be giving voice to the problems that are suffering in the areas outside the peninsula and it is blocked because the PSOE does not want the issues that are to discuss the islands in Madrid and they do not want to give them a voice. “, he noted.
Therefore, Marqués has considered that in the same two commissions held, the PSOE “has been a witness”. On the one hand, because in different cases “they voted for one thing in Madrid and another in the Balearic Islands” and, on the other hand, because “there are an infinite number of commitments that do not was achieved by the Government for the islands”.
Marqués has indicated that “more than 28 initiatives are waiting to be processed”, between motions, appearances and questions, which formally means that “there is material to make up to three commissions”.
“However, the president of the Commission – a member of the PSOE -, José Antonio Valbuena, the only one who can call it, is turning a deaf ear and following the instructions of his party to prevent it in order to solve the problems of the islands silence “, he said.
Among the upcoming issues, the popular member of parliament has highlighted issues that are “very relevant” such as air transport, road agreements, the effects of Coastal Regulations, national parks, state officials on the islands, maritime surveillance, or the regional funding system.
