(de)scribe grief
An evening (reading) with Louise Brown and a short writing exercise
The power of writing can help us move forward with grief. With great empathy, thoughts from her long-seller “What remains when we die”, the latest insights into grief, careful questions and small tasks, the journalist and funeral speaker Louise Brown encourages the bereaved to write down their thoughts about the loss and their memories of their life together.
Louise Brown, born in London in 1975, moved with her family to Ostholstein in northern Germany as a teenager. She studied political science in northern England, Kiel and Berlin. She is a journalist and has also been working as a funeral speaker in Hamburg for several years. There she also hosted the first “Death Café”. In her podcast “My Perfect Funeral” she talks to people about how they want to say goodbye. Louise Brown lives in Hamburg with her partner, two children and dog.
