“The Power of the Dog” and “West Side Story” receive awards at the scandal-obscured “Golden Globe” ceremony / Article

Director Jane Campion’s western “The Power of the Dog” won the Best Drama Award. Kempion has also been awarded the “Globe” for Best Director, and Cody Smith-McPhee has been named Best Supporting Actor for his performance on the film.

Stephen Spielberg’s “West Side Story” remake was awarded Best Picture in “Best Comedy or Musical.” For her performance in this tape, Rachel Zeglere and Ariana Debouza were awarded the “Globes” for Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress.

Will Smith and Nicola Kidman received the “Globes” for Best Actor and Actress in a Drama Competition for their performance in “King Richard” and “Being the Ricardos.”

Unlike other years, the star did not attend the party in Beverly Hills.

The award event, generally considered the prelude to the Oscars, was overshadowed this year by a long-running scandal surrounding ethical misconduct at the ceremony’s organization.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which brings together about 100 foreign-language entertainment journalists, has been reprimanded for many offenses ranging from corruption to racism.

This year, the broadcaster NBC did not broadcast the event on television, and even the popularity of the pop culture audience on Twitter was more driven by the death of comedian Bob Saget.
