“The Power of Introverts: Understanding the Differences Between Introverts and Extroverts”

They differ from each other in what they get their energy from. Introverts get it from resting alone, without stimuli or words. Extroverts from the outside world, contact and communication with others. The same is true of energy and vice versa. What destroys introverts energizes extroverts. They also have a different direction of attention. Introverts are certainty oriented while extroverts are reward oriented.

People who are on the scale somewhere in the middle between introverted and extroverted settings are called ambiverts or centroverts (eg people who are extroverted in close proximity and introverted towards most others).

Introvert and extrovert temperament types are biologically determined. The brains of introverts and extroverts work differently. Blood in the brain of introverts takes a longer route when thinking. That’s why they take longer to react. They prefer to write rather than talk. They need to think about their resignation before making it.

Introverts have significantly less energy than extroverts, and are more easily fatigued. Their activity is not physical, but mental.

The general division of people into introverted and extroverted personalities does not mean that a person always behaves only according to one unchanging scheme. In the course of life, this introvert-extrovert setting can change slightly.

Introverts seem calm, sometimes withdrawn, cold, aloof, even arrogant. However, on the inside they are full of emotions, while extroverts can seem exalted on the outside, but do not experience any deep emotion. The prevailing mood is also related to this. Among extroverts, we find more sanguine and choleric people, while introverted people are more often melancholic or phlegmatic.

Introverts are said to make up approximately one-third of the population. Introverts include, for example, Albert Einstein, Carl Gustav Jung, Angela Merkel, Barack Obama, Michelle Pfeiffer, Claudia Schiffer.

Introverts are destroyed by time pressure. They like to focus on one thing; can concentrate longer. They think about things more. They are analytical, foresight and meticulous. They tend to be intelligent, gifted and creative. They are great at getting things done.

They need personal space – both physical and mental. They are independent, steady, prudent.

Introverts are selectively social. They have several close friends. He can listen. They are empathetic and can focus on the needs of other people. They are extremely attentive to their surroundings. They are very loyal friends and partners. They rarely confide in each other. They prefer long-term and quality friendships to a large group of diverse people in their surroundings. Crowds stress them out, but they don’t experience anxiety attacks. Staying in (larger) company or an excess of external stimuli makes them more stressed and exhausted in the long term. They are sensitive to noise.

Introverts have a highly developed ability to entertain themselves. Independence from others is their major strength. They like to work alone or in pairs. They prefer to listen rather than talk. They don’t always need to engage in conversations. Sometimes it is enough for them to be present and enjoy the company in silence. They don’t like so-called social conversation.

They tend to be afraid to speak in front of others. Anxious introverts avoid society because they feel awkward or embarrassed around other people. They often take things too personally. They tend to have low self-esteem.

I like to be a quiet person. Although it is sometimes a bit challenging in a noisy world.
