The Potential Impact of Terziev’s Votes in a Hekimian-Grigorova Runoff

In the event of a Hekimian-Grigorova runoff, the big question is whether there will be Terziev’s votes that will go to Hekimian, if only the “communist” does not come. The PP’s votes should rather go to Hekimyan. This is what the political scientist from “Gallup International” Parvan Simeonov commented to “Nova News”.

The candidate for mayor of Sofia, Vasil Terziev, is playing for the long term on a national scale. It seems to me that the nomination of GERB-SDS Anton Hekimyan has a political ambition that goes beyond the idea of mayor of the capital. It is the same with Vanya Grigorova.

When asked if there is an overlap of electorates between the candidate of the united left, Vanya Grigorova, and the nomination of “Vazrazhdane” Deyan Nikolov, Simeonov answered: “These are protest candidates. Punitive type of voting against the “assembly”.

Where would the votes cast for “Vazrazhdane”, Vanya Grigorova and Vili Lilkov go in a runoff between Terziev and Hekimyan, he commented: “These voters would probably stay at home. Rather, Grigorova and Nikolov, as candidates, would hardly send their votes anywhere”.

In connection with a possible run-off, the political scientist explained that a clash between GERB and “Vazrazhdane” looks very convenient for GERB from today’s point of view. “Then some of the supporting PP and DB will also vote for the GERB candidate”, is his opinion.
