The Potential Impact of Putin’s Regime Fall on Russia: Insights from a Former State Duma Deputy

A former deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation told what will happen in Russia after the fall of the dictatorship of Vladimir Putin.

Former State Duma deputy Ilya Ponomarev believes that the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov will be the first to declare the region’s independence after the fall of the regime of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.

This is his opinion expressed on air on the FREEDOM TV channel.

According to him, anti-Jewish pogroms in Dagestan indicate interethnic and interreligious tension in Russian regions.

“I believe that one of the first, if not the first person to declare the independence of his region from the Russian Federation after the fall of Putin, will be Kadyrov. And there will still be competition in Chechnya – who is in charge of separating the region from Russia,” believes ex-deputy of the Russian Federation.

He also drew attention to Kadyrov’s reaction to the events in Dagestan.

As Ponomarev noted, Ramzan Kadyrov responded to anti-Jewish rallies in Makhachkala just two days later. And only when the Kremlin said, why are you silent, should you speak out if you are loyal.

“Only then, in accordance with his Caucasian temperament, of course, did he say that Putin is our leader, and in general we will react harshly to this. But before that he was silent. This element, fueled by the Putin regime, Putin’s propaganda, Putin’s television , Putin’s special services. And not a single regional elite is simply able to stop all this or somehow destroy it. They can steer a little and parasitize on this, on these waves, join them in order to strengthen their power, but resist it they are completely incapable. And even Kadyrov, being a strong leader, cannot do this in any way,” summed up Ilya Ponomarev.

Let’s remember Ramzan Kadyrov forbade Chechens to participate in “unauthorized riots” and threatened to kill them. His statement concerns anti-Jewish rallies, which, in particular, swept across Dagestan.
