Elon Musk has repeatedly warned of the danger artificial intelligence or AI (Artificial intelligence). Most recently, the Tesla, Twitter and SpaceX skipper told senior Chinese leaders of the AI threat to them.
According to Elon, the creation of digital superintelligence or digital super intelligence could one day seize control of the Chinese Communist Party led by President Xi Jinping, and even take over the country from the hands of the government if it is not watched out for.
Via Twitter Spaces, Elon revealed he spent time with senior Chinese leaders during a recent visit there. They discussed the potential dangers of AI and its possibility of taking power. China is indeed actively developing AI in all fields.
“I think that resonates. No government wants to be taken over by digital super intelligence. So I think they are taking a step on the regulatory side and are concerned about this risk,” Elon Musk was quoted as saying detikINET from Insiders.
It sounds like the theme of a sci-fi movie, but Elon Musk believes that digital superintelligence isn’t bullshit even though it’s only a hypothesis at the moment. He believed that this kind of intelligence would exist in another 5 or 6 years.
“The definition of this digital super intelligence is that he is smarter than any human being, in any case. It doesn’t mean that he is smarter than all humans combined, it’s something even higher,” he explained.
Even though he sounds pessimistic about AI and its dangers, he remains optimistic about the future of this technology. “I think the trend is positive scenarios compared to negative scenarios. But the bad scenarios are not 0% and we want to do everything we can to minimize the bad possibilities with AI,” he concluded.
