JAKARTA – United States of America (US) is currently hostile to Russia, China, and North Korea (North Korea). The four countries are all nuclear armed.
America is hostile to Russia over the war in Ukraine, where Washington and its NATO allies have been supplying Kyiv with advanced weapons to counter a Moscow invasion.
America is also hostile to China on various issues, such as the Taiwan crisis, the South China Sea crisis, espionage, trade competition, and human rights issues.
Meanwhile, America’s hostility towards North Korea is related to Pyongyang’s nuclear weapons program, which Washington opposes. Pyongyang feels entitled to have nuclear weapons to protect itself from foreign invasion, while Washington defends its allies; South Korea and Japan, which feel threatened by Pyongyang’s nuclear weapons and missile programs.
