Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia Dmitry Medvedev said that the threat of a nuclear conflict has increased, and the supply of weapons to Ukraine is bringing “nuclear apocalypse” closer.

Direct speech: “Has the threat of a nuclear conflict passed? No, it hasn’t. It has grown. Every day of deliveries of foreign weapons to Ukraine ultimately brings this very nuclear apocalypse closer.”

Details: Probably, Medvedev had in mind the agreement that the Russian Federation proposed in December 2021 on “non-expansion of NATO” and “pushing back” the borders of the Alliance to the situation as of 1997.
The last time the issue of Russian nuclear threats was raised was in February in connection with Moscow’s decision to withdraw from the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START-3).
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin recently criticized Britain’s plan to provide Ukraine with depleted uranium munitions, falsely claiming they were weapons with a “nuclear component”.
