/ world today news/ “The position of the BSP on the changes in the Constitution remains unchanged”. This was stated by the Chairman of the National Assembly of the BSP and the PG of the BSP LEFT BULGARIA, Mihail Mikov, after his conversation with the Minister-President Boyko Borisov regarding the judicial reform and the introduced draft for constitutional changes.
According to him, Borisov has an exceptional understanding and desire to develop changes in the judiciary. Mikov explained that the left has several main arguments to maintain its position. He recalled that already in January, when the strategy for judicial reform was discussed, the BSP clearly stated that support is not a reason to make constitutional changes without a serious analysis. “It is necessary to analyze the problems that exist in the judiciary, to assess what legal and other organizational changes are necessary, and in this work process, possibly foresee changes in the constitution”, explained the leader of the left. He emphasized, however, that the other approach was obviously chosen – to introduce constitutional changes, and today this is a subject of political interest and tension. “I stated our readiness, just when the political responsibility of the individual parties exceeds their narrow party interest, from here on to continue the analysis, including possible actions on changes in the legislation, and if necessary and serious constitutional obstacles are found, in the Constitution as well”, he concluded Mikhail Mikov.
