During the presentation of the initiative, the director of the Tierra Platform, Alejandro Blaas, detailed the content that is already available in this first phase of the platform’s development.
With this objective of creating a community, a public content portal has been developed, as well as a section for registered users “that allows us to offer specific content, personalized according to the interests of users,” he specified.
Registering on this portal www.plataformatierra.es is free.
The portal is organized according to themes in which the sections of: market information, publications, specific tools for the sector and training are collected.
Specialists
Thus, in the area of innovation there are a series of articles prepared by a team of 25 professionals and specialists in the agricultural sector “who support us from the Cajamar Foundation and we also have a very wide network of collaborators.”
The publications section is reserved for the private editorial fund specialized in agri-food “the most complete in Spain, one more reference for researchers and the general public.”
The training section «is one of the pillars of the platform. We believe that knowledge is essential to disseminate it and for this we have a catalog of events, webinar and courses ». This section also provides information on the entity’s experimental centers that “are a national and international reference in research and experimentation on agriculture and sustainable technologies, as well as horticulture and fruit growing.”
One more area that they think will be fundamental for the creation of this ecosystem is that of specific tools for the sector. “This is where we believe that our open platform philosophy will allow us to integrate solutions from different ‘partners’ through a common architecture and facilitate access for all our users.” At the moment, they have begun with the development of irrigation and fertilization plans, but throughout the year, the catalog will be completed with more useful tools.
