“Porsche Turbo” models will have their own, exclusive emblem – instead of the gold color, the elegant, metallic gray tone “Turbonite” specially created by the designers dominates, and this is how all “Turbo” derivatives will be highlighted in the future, the company informs.
The new shade “Turbonite” will be used not only in the crest, but also in several other individual exterior and interior details, giving the “Turbo” models an even more original look. Porsche will gradually introduce these distinguishing features in all model series. The first will be the new generation of Panamera, which will have its world premiere on November 24, 2023.
For almost 50 years, “Turbo” models have occupied a high place among “Porsche” cars. They symbolize distinctly high performance and embody the unique essence of each model series.
“We presented the first 911 with a turbine in 1974. Since then, ‘Turbo’ has become synonymous with our high performance models and is now largely a brand in its own right. At the moment, we want to make the Turbo even more visible and stand out even more among other derivatives such as the GTS,” explains Michael Mauer, Vice President of Styling at Style Porsche. “That’s why we’ve developed a special ‘Turbo’ aesthetic. From now on, the “Turbo” versions in all model series will have a uniform appearance – elegant, high-quality and very special.”
The new “Turbonite” metallic tone is only for the “Turbo” models. Like all of the brand’s colors, this one was carefully developed by Porsche’s paint and finish experts. Gold elements create an elegant metallic effect, while the top layer is in a contrasting satin finish. In the future, the lettering on the rear of the Turbo models, as well as the glass and side window moldings, will be in the “Turbonite” finish. Depending on the model, other details can also be painted in the color of the “Turbonite” series, such as inlays in the front of the car, used disc spokes or aerodynamic blades.
“Turbonite” is also the dominant color in the exclusive badge of the “Turbo” models. All high-performance models will soon feature this badge on the front hood, alloy wheels and steering wheel.
Certain components in the cabin, such as the trim strips, seat belts and several controls, including the mode switch and air conditioner control panel, will also be in ‘Turbonite’ colour. The use of “Turbonite” will depend on the model series. Combined with the black interior, Turbonite can be used as a contrasting color for the seat threads, door trim panels, instrument panel and floor mats.
