Phones are getting bigger every year, which is mainly due to the growing size of the display. Manufacturers are trying to compensate for this with thinner frames around the display, or a narrower construction. But the truth is that really small smartphones are on the market like saffron.

Instead of trying to make phones with a smaller display, manufacturers do the exact opposite. When they introduce a new device in the top class, they usually offer an equivalent only with an even larger screen, not a smaller one.

That’s why Sony was praised to heaven years ago – by reviewers and users themselves. Instead of a larger display, it also offered its Xperia with a smaller screen. Such phones usually had the same performance and virtually identical equipment, but in recent years, to the displeasure of many users, the Japanese electronic giant has resented them.

A new model will be shown this year
But this year is set to change. According to the Phone Arena server, we should see a new Compact this year. Although it is not known whether it will be a premium smartphone, it should definitely be compact according to the name. But we will have to wait for some time for more information.

The best from Sony is currently represented by the Xperia 1 II, which is available in stores for CZK 29,990. However, a higher price tag is justifiable with regard to the equipment offered. As the name suggests, the second is a follower of last year’s number one. As the only device on the market, it was equipped with a touch panel with a resolution of 4K. And just such a display can also be found in the recent news.

The Sony Xperia 1 II has a 6.5-inch display with a resolution of 3840 x 1644 pixels. It is a screen with OLED technology, on which, for example, the latest iPhones build. However, they have a significantly lower resolution.

The heart of the phone is the top Snapdragon 865. There is also 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage space. The battery offers a solid capacity of 4000 mAh and the device also supports fast 5G networks.

Advanced cameras
There are three on the back – in addition to the main sensor, there is an ultra-wide angle lens and a telephoto lens. The manufacturer claims that all three sensors should be among the best on the market, as it lent them technology from its mirrorless cameras.

The photographic equipment is also very good. The main camera offers an aperture of f / 1.7, it builds on a chip with a diagonal of 1 / 1.7 inches. The brightness is therefore worse than in the case of its predecessor, however, the resulting snapshots should be better thanks to the larger chip. The resolution of all cameras is 12 MPx. There is a four-megapixel camera in front.

Cameras attract attention, for example, by sequentially shooting 20 frames per second or by continuous autofocus, which performs continuous calculations of the subject. Of course, there is HDR support or the ability to record videos in 4K resolution at 60 frames per second.
