Little by little, the Toyota Yaris is forming a complete family in Colombia. After the premiere of the automatic Sport in February, and the manual Sport in June, now comes the entry version XS with the same transmission options from $ 58.4 million.
The Covid-19 pandemic has not diminished at all the work that Toyota planned for our country in the course of this year. While it established biosafety protocols throughout its operation, and managed to keep its human capital intact, it has presented several novelties. Among them the Toyota Yaris, which already has a complete range on the market.
In February the version arrived Sport CVT As a top-of-the-range option, four months later the Mechanical sport and now comes the new XS variant with manual or CVT box. Be the brand’s most affordable option in Colombia, making it easier for more people to access a Toyota zero kilometers.
According to the brand, the new Toyota Yaris XS seeks to be a lower cost mobility alternative to avoid crowds in public transport, simpler but with the quality that for decades has characterized Toyota. Compete not only with Chevrolet Onix, Mazda 2 and Kia Rio basic, but also with Renault Logan and Sandero more equipped.
General characteristics
There are some trim differences between the Yaris Sport and XS. While the already known model has seven airbags, this version incorporates two, also dispensing with the reverse camera, LED taillights and leather seats of the Sport, in favor of halogen headlights and cloth seats on the XS.
The latter also has 15-inch aluminum wheels in a single tone, and exterior mirrors in body color, but lose the LED daytime running lights on the front. This is how it differs visually from the Yaris Sport.
In the rest of the items not many changes. Both models have ABS + EBD brakes, Emergency Brake Assist (BA), traction and stability controls, hill start assistance and ISOFIX anchors.
It also maintains the system of keyless access and push button start Smart Start/Smart Entry, electrochromic interior mirror, automatic lights, Harman stereo with 7-inch touchscreen, Android Auto y Apple CarPlay, rear fog light and reflector type headlights.
Under the hood remains the four-cylinder engine and 1.5 liters with a distribution chain, which generates 106 hp at 6,000 rpm and torque of 140 Nm at 4,200 rpm. As said lines back, it can be obtained with box six-speed manual or automatic CVT with seven gears in manual mode.
