The U.S. House of Representatives rejects President Donald Trump’s veto over the Defense Bill (Bill). This rejection was a blow to Trump in the last weeks of his presidency.
The Democratic-controlled US House of Representatives voted 322 to 87 to reject Trump’s veto over a $ 740.5 billion defense program bill, with 109 Republicans siding with Democrats.
In a statement released after the vote, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi denounced Trump’s veto as “reckless” and called on him to end the campaign that sparked chaos.
The rejection is the latest sign of Trump’s waning power as he prepares to leave the White House on January 20, 2021.
Reported AFP, Trump has vetoed nine bills including the Defense Bill during his tenure in the White House.
An Israeli man died hours after being injected with the corona virus vaccine.
The 75-year-old man had a heart attack after receiving the vaccine and died at home. He does have a history of cancer and heart attacks in the past.
As quoted from Times of IsraelThe man received an injection of the first dose of Pfizer vaccine Monday morning in his hometown of Beit She’an.
After being injected with the vaccine, he waited half an hour at the clinic. Then he was allowed to go home because he felt fine.
Not long after arriving home, the man collapsed and was later pronounced dead of heart failure.
The Health Ministry on Monday (28/12) said it was investigating the man’s death. Initial investigations, however, indicated the man’s death had nothing to do with the vaccine injection.
“The man was suffering from heart disease and cancer, and had several heart attacks,” the Health Ministry said.
The man’s family also asked not to link his death to a vaccine.
