VATICAN CITY – The meeting will take place within this year, it is said even before the summer, in all probability in neutral territory. Not in Rome or even in Moscow, then. The news is in fact confirmed by the Russian embassy to the Holy See which relaunches an article by Ria Novosti in which Metropolitan Hilarion, head of international relations of the patriarchate of Moscow, says that “work is being done” on a meeting between the Orthodox Patriarch Kirill and Pope Francis even if due to the development of events in Ukraine the two spiritual leaders have already had need to communicate remotely.
