Pope Francis is expected to leave hospital tomorrow. He plans to attend Mass for Palm Sunday in St. Peter’s Square on Sunday, a Vatican spokesman said.
According to his doctors, the pope seems to be recovering well from bronchitis, for which he has been given antibiotics. Last night he had a healthy appetite again. The spokesman says he ate pizza. His doctors report that he had a good and restful night afterwards.
Sources close to the pope had already announced this morning that he would like to leave the hospital so that he can lead the important church celebrations of Palm Sunday, Holy Week and Easter.

Francis was taken to Rome’s Gemelli Hospital on Wednesday after complaining of breathing problems. There was concern about this, because the 86-year-old pope is struggling with various health ailments.
For example, his lung capacity is limited because part of one of his lungs was removed at a young age. In the summer of 2021, a piece of his colon was removed and due to persistent knee problems, the pope is usually in a wheelchair.
