The pop-up gallery features works of art by Offenbach

dhe “Superladen” gallery has been a fixture in Offenbach for about two decades, albeit without a fixed location, because the sales exhibition in the period leading up to Christmas is always found in various points in the city center: a temporary gallery, in fact. Already in 2002 the “Bund Offenbacher Künstler” opened the temporary “Superladen”, at the time on the Kaiserstrasse. The idea of the “super shop” has remained the same: freelance artists should be given the opportunity to exhibit their work and put it up for sale in temporarily empty shops. This year, the “Superladen” will use the former store of the Orsay fashion chain at Frankfurter Strasse 17 from 2 to 24 December.

This form of temporary use is on the one hand an instrument of the municipal cultural policy, but at the same time it is also part of the future city center concept, with which Offenbach wants to revitalize its ailing old town with a fundamentally new strategy. The exhibition is open every day from 12:00 to 19:00. It offers 27 artists the opportunity to present a selection of their work, which is said to be small to medium format.

The works are paintings, drawings, graphics, photographs and sculptures. Interested parties should be given the opportunity to purchase artwork at affordable prices. The management of the organization of the “super shop” is once again in the hands of the artist Anja Hantelmann, who is supported by the city management of the Offenbach Economic Development Agency.
