Giva Kyuldzhieva is gone – the poet who wrote the lyrics of some of the most beautiful and beloved Bulgarian pop songs, including Emil Dimitrov, Lili Ivanova, Yordanka Hristova, Margarita Hranova, Bogdana Karadocheva, Panayot Panayotov, the groups “Crickets” and “Crickets” and “Diana” ” and many others. This became clear from the many regrets posted on the Facebook profiles of native pop stars.
Kyuldzhieva left this world on New Year’s Eve and was sent away for the last time on Sunday by her relatives, friends, colleagues and admirers.

Zhiva Kyuldzhieva is the author of over 1500 lyrics. She has worked with the brightest names from our music scene, including Lili Ivanova, Yordaka Hristova, Kichka Bodurova and others. He made a significant contribution to the flourishing of Bulgarian pop music in the 70s and 80s.
Born in 1932, the poet is the discoverer of a number of young talents and future stars of native pop music. In those years, still unknown artists often resorted to cover versions of foreign hits, but with Bulgarian lyrics to establish themselves. For this purpose, they rely on the beautiful poems of Jiva Kyuldzhieva. Thus, dozens of popular hits in the West managed to break through social censorship and jump over the Iron Curtain to reach the native audience.
In 1975, July morning of Uriah Heep sounded for the first time in the Bulgarian performance of Margarita Hranova with a text that touches on topics related to war and peace.
But Kyuldzhieva writes poems not only for cover versions. She works with the most famous Bulgarian composers, creators of popular and to this day our hits. Interestingly, the poet manages to arrange the syllables in the melody so that the musical metrorhythmics in the words match perfectly with the rhythm of the song. And this is a skill that not everyone has.
She herself says that things come to her in a dream. “I have seen her manuscripts, in which it is clear that she does not scratch or correct anything, but just sits down and pours out the whole text at once.“- says the author of a documentary about her Peter Gaitandzhiev. According to him, Kyuldzhieva’s poems evoke deep emotions because they touch on topics such as love, nature, attitude to the world around us, to the sublime.” There remains a beautiful nostalgic feeling, especially among people born before the 80’s “- says the director.
Zhiva Kyuldzhieva lives in Sofia, but was born in Burgas and was declared an honorary citizen of our seaside town.

Her father was a very great intellectual, spoke 6 languages, had a huge library and library. Zhiva grew up in a family that was very interested in culture around the world.
