Newly built pontoon bridge in Belaruswho was near the border of Ukraine, disappeared, reports CNN. Earlier, the media claimed that it was built by Russian troops during the exercises.

According to new satellite images and CNN sources, the pontoon bridge across the Pripyat River has been dismantled. Western intelligence believed that Moscow could use this bridge for a potential invasion of Ukraine.

CNN notes that it is not clear why the bridge was built and dismantled. It is possible that the bridge will be used exclusively for exercises in Belarus, the report says.

“It is possible that the Russian or Belarusian armed forces stationed there, which, according to Western officials, can be used to invade Ukraine from the north, have already transferred equipment and no longer need it. (bridge – ed.),” notes CNN.

The media reported on the appearance of a bridge across the Pripyat River near the abandoned Belarusian village of Vepr on February 16.

Russia has been pulling troops to the Ukrainian borders since the end of October 2021. February 16 CNN, citing Ukrainian intelligence data, reported that there are more than 148,000 Russian troops on the borders.including more than 126 thousand ground troops, but they are not enough for a full-scale invasion.

Parallel Russia conducts military exercises near the eastern borders of Ukraine, in the occupied Crimea, in Belarus and in the Black Sea. Western countries believe that the Kremlin regime can thus prepare for a new invasion.
