PONTEDERA – The thyroid surgery of the hospitals of Livorno, Cecina and Pontedera, directed by Dr. Giancarlo Basili, has once again confirmed itself this year among the best centers in Tuscany, ranking first in the region and second level in the whole of Italy, immediately after the Pisan University Hospital.
This important result emerged from the data published by the National Outcomes Program (PNE), which recorded how the thyroid surgery of the ASL Tuscany North-West treated 120 patients suffering from thyroid cancer.
The PNE, developed by AGENAS on behalf of the Ministry of Health, provides a comparative evaluation at a national level on the effectiveness, safety, efficiency and quality of care of the National Health Service, representing a fundamental tool for improving performance in healthcare facilities.
Doctor Giancarlo Basili, director of the structure which includes Livorno, Pontedera and Cecina, underlines the strong point of the service: “The multidisciplinary approach to patient management.
