The Political Secretariat of SYRIZA meets in the morning at 12:00 after the rapid developments of the weekend.
The main topic of the discussion is expected to be the questionnaire that Stefanos Kasselakis put to the members of SYRIZA, with which he asks them to take a position on identity issues of the party.
The extraordinary convocation of the Political Secretariat and the Central Committee was requested by Olga Gerovasili in the morning:
“Five days before the congress, identity issues are selected and asked, in the form of a poll questionnaire, which constitute congressional decisions and statutory positions of our party. Key, critical and important issues are not raised in the public sphere since they have not been raised neither in the positions, nor in the public, nor in the internal party dialogue of the party members”, he emphasized among other things.

“To surpass ourselves”
The president of SYRIZA is expected to participate via video conference, since he will be in London. In the afternoon he will speak at an LSE event.
Despite the strong reactions of leading executives, Stefanos Kasselakis notes that the questionnaire “gives members a voice”.
“In the SYRIZA I envision, the President and the Institutions first listen to the base and then decide, taking it into account. I know it’s unusual for the political scene in our country, but to speak to society again we have to go beyond ourselves and listen to society. Giving voice to the members was my main commitment from the first moment, when I ran for President of SYRIZA” he says in his post today.
