Lecturer at Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) Vytautas Dumbliauskas claimed that despite Russia’s start of war in Ukraine, the ratings of the ruling Homeland Union did not rise.
“We must not forget that the Homeland Union has its own electorate ceiling. And those ceilings are less than 300,000 when the turnout is well over a million. It is nothing surprising and calm to look at the fact that the Conservatives are in the first place in the ranking table, someone else is in the second place, ”said V. Dumbliauskas.
An MRU political scientist said it could be said that this year is clearly the top three most popular political parties.
„S. The phenomenon of the Squirrel Party is very interesting to me. (…) I think S. Skvernel repeats the fate of one leading party. I will remind you of the New Union here. Col. Artūras Paulauskas was popular until then and the party was popular.

He stated that in the upcoming elections of the Seimas in 2024, the Union of Democrats led by S. Skvernelis “In the Name of Lithuania” would enter the parliament.

“We see them, so they are in the rankings. We see S. Skvernel and his activity – that inertia gives him a chance. And what surprises me a little is LSDP.
