Married in 1969, Amien Rais-Kusnasriyati Sri Rahayu was blessed with five children. They are Ahmad Hanafi Rais, Hanum Salsabiela Rais, Ahmad Mumtaz Rais , Tasniem Fauzia Rais, and Ahmad Baihaqy Rais.

Hanafi Rais is the first son of Amien Rais. Compared to four siblings, political career Hanafi Rais arguably more classy.
Hanafi, who was born September 10, 1979 in Chicago, America, has long been active in PAN, the party his father founded in 1998. He became MPP DPW PAN DIY in 2010. He has also been MPB DPP BM PAN since 2011.
In the 2011 Yogyakarta City Election, Hanafi Rais, who was paired with Tri Harjun Ismaji, participated in the fight. However, this pair only received 84,122 votes or 41.9 percent. The Hanafi-Tri pair lost to Haryadi Suyuti-Imam Priyono who received 97,074 votes or 48.3 percent.
