This Thursday, February 9, the Polish “stoner doom metal” band “Dopelord” will perform in “Vagonu Zāle” – this group has visited Riga before and made a mark here with very energetic concerts.
“Dopelord” is a “stoner/doom” quartet, whose music and everyday life are driven by the influences of 70s music and psychedelic cinema. Their sound is often compared to such modern and modernized classics of the genre as the bands “Electric Wizard” or “Windhand” (by the way, quite deservedly compared), and music reviewers place the band at the top of the Polish “stoner” band, alongside the greats of this music style from ” Weedpecker’, ‘Spaceslug’ and ‘Major Kong’. The group already has four albums, the latest of which is “Sign Of The Devil” (2020).
Poles will be warmed up by the evening’s special guests – the domestic psychedelic “stoner/doom” band “Zintnieks”, who with their debut album “No aizkurienes” have won recognition not only in Latvia, but also well beyond the borders of their native land, with music lovers especially praising (and very deservedly !) vocalist Elizabeth’s voice.
