Prague A 32-year-old police officer died in an accident of two cars on 5 May Street in Prague on Sunday evening. This was stated on Twitter by Police President Jan Švejdar. Two other police officers were taken to hospital with serious injuries. Most likely, the culprit of the accident was a driver who got behind the wheel under the influence of alcohol and drugs, inhaled more than two per mille, said police spokeswoman Violeta Siřišťová.
The accident happened shortly before 19:30 and blocks the main move at the level of Chodov in the direction of Brno.

According to Jana Poštová, a spokeswoman for the rescue service, the deceased could not be resuscitated. “We resuscitated him for over half an hour before he was rescued from the vehicle and then about another half hour after rescuing him from the car, unfortunately we did not manage to restore the function,” she told ČTK.
According to Siřišťová, the 1981 driver crashed into a company car of the Moravian-Silesian Police, and suffered minor injuries. “She was restricted to personal liberty and transferred to the police station, where criminal proceedings are currently taking place there,” the spokeswoman added.
