The police will drop the Odin case

The police wrote this in a statement.

They say they do not want to comment further on the investigation results as long as the cases are dealt with by the state attorney.

On 18 November 2018, Odin André Hagen Jacobsen, 18, of Skaun was reported missing after a trip to Trondheim.

– Our goal was to find Odin and find out what happened. It was a very large investigation that lasted several years. The investigation did not provide us with any concrete evidence that the disappearance was due to a criminal offense, says the prosecutor in the case, Hans Vang in the Trøndelag police district.

The police also write that the investigation was extensive in terms of the number of interviews, the amount of video surveillance material examined, and technical examinations. Kripos also attended.

During the investigation, a man in his forties was charged with perjury in an interview with witnesses. This case too was forwarded to the state attorney for further treatment.

– Now we have come to the point where the police find it unrealistic that further investigation will bring us closer to an answer, says Vang and adds:

– We understand that this is a very heavy burden for the closest relatives and that it is a terrible burden not to get answers about what happened. I really wish we had found an answer with two lines below. At the same time, I believe that we have done everything possible to clarify the matter.
