The police took over the first 200 Škoda Scala hatchbacks

This is the first batch from the tender for 557 vehicles. The Kunovice company added classic police stickers, better electronics as well as cabling and warning systems to the cars.

“When I took office, the age of the police fleet was probably the biggest problem. Today, we can say that after the delivery is completed here, the police will have 95 percent of the 2,800 vehicles in color, “said Interior Minister Jan Hamáček at the takeover. According to him, the new cars will be distributed to all regions.

The police scales are fitted at the factory with a 1.5 TSI petrol engine with an output of 110 kW in combination with a seven-speed DSG dual-clutch transmission. Standard equipment includes, for example, six airbags, push-button starting, front fog lights, rear parking sensors, a car radio with Bluetooth, manual air conditioning or a more durable fabric upholstery.

Two hundred police cars are already standing in front of Ramet’s main building. Another 357 cars are still in the production hall of the Kunovice company or are still waiting for police modifications. The Kunovice company will complete the work on them within a month.

“We started modifying these more than five hundred police cars in August, ten to twelve cars a day,” said Ramet CEO Rudolf Vácha.

Employees of the Kunovice company add a number of warning elements to police cars, such as the installation of a warning ramp on the roof, warning lights around the entire car. There are also stickers and darkening of the rear windows.

Other modifications include the installation of a cable set for the radio station or cabling for the camera systems that will be installed in the cars.

“And then there is the installation of support aids for the police, ie additional sockets for charging and powering 12-volt appliances, an additional converter for powering appliances to 230 volts and additional interior lighting, which improves service options, especially in case of reduced visibility,” added Vácha. . In the past, Ramet also modified Škoda Octavia and Škoda Kodiaq cars for the police, and also installed radars in police cars.
