Units of the National Police switched to an enhanced version of the service – to ensure security on the upcoming holidays on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence. On Monday, August 16, reports press service National Police.
All structural divisions of the police will be involved in the protection of public safety and order. Servicemen of the National Guard of Ukraine will also be involved in patrolling.
“Additional patrols will appear in crowded places – in public places, at bus stations, at the railway station, in the metro and airports,” said the head of the National Police of Ukraine Igor Klimenko.
He also added that in the center of Kiev, the movement of vehicles will be partially limited, the schedule and scheme of public transport will be changed.
“About 10 thousand police officers and servicemen of the National Guard of Ukraine will work in the city of Kiev,” said the head of the Kiev police, Ivan Vyhovsky.
At the same time, he said that the metropolitan police will actively work out places of concentration of citizens, entertainment and recreation facilities, infrastructure facilities in Kiev.
We will remind, in Kiev on Khreshchatyk in a military parade on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Independence Day more than five thousand soldiers will take part.
