ANNOUNCEMENTS

This morning, officers searched for a missing dog on the A9 near southeast Amsterdam with several cars and a police helicopter. The dog has been missing since January 2. He was startled by the explosions of fireworks and ran away.

Animal ambulance employees saw the animal on January 2, but were unable to pick it up. The demise of Teddy the Toy Poodle / Shih Tzu has had a lot since then Caution. The voluntary organization Dogsearch Netherlands is involved in the research and well-known Dutch people like Georgina Verbaan and Anouk have shared information about the dog on social media. There was also a public notice sent.

Closed knot

Teddy was seen this morning on the A9 by his owner. However, he didn’t make it to a meeting. “He was very scared, his instincts took over and he ran away from me. So he didn’t even recognize me,” Peggy van Boxtel tells NH News.

The Holendrecht interchange was therefore closed for a short time. Officers searched the roadway with multiple units and the police helicopter was used to search from the air. Which produced nothing.

Marianne Dalhuisen of Dogsearch Netherlands told AT5 last week that it is a known problem for animals to disappear towards the end of the year due to firework explosions. According to her, last New Year’s Eve was “a disaster”.

Towards the end of the year, the organization received fourteen reports of lost dogs, mostly in the Randstad. All the dogs except Teddy have been found.
