Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Police Headquarters guaranteeing that there will be no effort to hinder the family from managing six corpse Laskar Pembela Islam (LPI) who were killed in clashing with the police on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, Monday (7/12) in the morning.

“The National Police has never prevented or made it difficult for the family to take care of the bodies of the six people who tried to fight the officer,” said Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Argo Yuwono through an official statement, Monday (7/12).

In addition, Argo explained that the police did not intend to hide or cover up the whereabouts of the body. He confirmed that the body is still in the Police Hospital (RS), Kramat Jati, Jakarta.

Argo continued, the police are still examining and identifying the bodies that died from the hot lead from the police.

He then explained that police personnel were indeed guarding the area around the Police Hospital. According to him, this step was taken to anticipate certain groups trying to take advantage of the situation.

“Of course, according to the applicable SOP, officers take care to prevent irresponsible people,” explained Argo.

Previously, the General Secretary of FPI Munarman said that the families of 6 Laskar Pembela Islam (LPI) until Monday (7/12) afternoon had not been able to access the bodies. Yet according to him, the bodies should have been handed over to the family immediately.

It is known that the clash between police officers and Rizieq’s supporters took place on the Jakarta-Cikampek KM 50 Toll Road on Monday (7/12) at around 00.30 WIB. Because of this incident, six soldiers who were guarding Rizieq died.

Regarding the incident, the police and FPI presented a different chronology.

The police said the clash occurred when the security forces were attacked and surrounded by a group of FPI sympathizers in the midst of surveillance and investigations regarding information on mass mobilization to guard Rizieq’s investigation. Then according to the police, firm steps were taken because the actions of the sympathizers were deemed to endanger the safety of the officers.

The clash resulted in the death of six FPI troops.

The police explanation differs from the chronology presented by FPI. According to this organization formed by Rizieq Shihab, a clash occurred when the guard was attacked by an unknown person (OTK) while guarding Rizieq Shihab’s activities.
