Night to Saturday, the stage is set for the first weekend evening of pouring in Oslo since the nightlife industry was hit by the corona measures in November last year.
At 23.30, police operations manager Tor Grøttum tells Dagbladet that there are large gatherings of people throughout the city.
– There are lots of people all over the city now. We do not get to do much with the gatherings, but will take care of the orderly, ie if there are any incidents, he says and adds that so far not many of them have been reported.
– As it is now, it is absolutely affordable for us, but we are a bit excited about how it will be during the night, says Grøttum.
–
– Own responsibility
At St. Hanshaugen there are many people gathered tonight. A video shows that several people dance closely to music from their own DJ, who is on site.
– There are also a lot of people in Frognerparken, and we are present there, says Grøttum
– There is also a good atmosphere and no serious incidents, he adds.
The fact that in Oslo it is not allowed to arrange or participate in private gatherings in a public place outdoors where there are more than 20 people present, the police will not be allowed to do anything tonight, says the operations manager.
– That many gather in the parks is nothing new. The new thing today is that they opened for serving until 10 pm. It is the individual who is responsible for taking care of their own infection control, says Grøttum.
Together with the nice weather, the capital opens up, and many people enjoy the nice weather in parks and outdoor cafes on Friday night.
The police in Oslo stated earlier tonight that they are excited about whether the night will be hectic.
– We are not afraid of it, but we are prepared for it to happen. Everyone is probably a little excited about how it can be throughout the evening. When people go home from the city when the serving ends at 10 pm, we are excited about whether people go home or stay in the cityscape, says operations manager Tor Grøttum to Dagbladet.

The operations manager states that there is a “good atmosphere and a lot of people in nightclubs and in the cityscape”, but that so far things have gone smoothly.
– It has picked up a bit in terms of assignments, but it is expected regardless of the time of year. We certainly do not notice anything that has been talked about, with drunkenness and fuss, but it is still quite early in the evening. So far it has gone well, he says.
Just before 11 pm on Friday night, operations manager Line Scott says that the police have not been notified of any special incidents.
– So far, this has been very painless, she says to Dagbladet.
– Even though the pouring closes at 10 pm, there are several places that hold up until closer to 11 pm, so it will probably be from now on that we get to see how this turns out, but so far no major incidents have been reported, she adds to.
