/ world today news/ The largest trade union of employees in the Ministry of Internal Affairs – Trade Union Federation of Employees in the Ministry of the Interior, is in a state of protest readiness and is asking its structures to organize protest actions. The reason is the changes adopted by the Council of Ministers in the Law on the Interior, which is still unavailable on the website of the National Assembly.
“At the moment, Bulgarian citizens (with the exception of the members of the Council of Ministers and the people’s representatives) are in hypothesis mode as to what the proposals for change are and what is the purpose of the reform planned by Minister Bachvarova and her team. There is no information about the expected results of this “reform”, and the actions of the representatives of the political leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs do not correspond in any way with the previously stated intentions of Minister Bachvarova to reform the department in a way that guarantees its efficiency and higher quality of the “civil security” service, the union wrote.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, the planned “reform” in the form presented to them “does not solve any of the problems in the Ministry of Internal Affairs on a qualitative level, on the contrary – it will make it difficult and even block the activity of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for an indefinite period of time”.
The trade unionists ask Minister Bachvarova how the planned measures will increase the effectiveness of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the quality of the “civil security” service, and whether these will be the last changes.
